Minute Spotlight: Givency Spring 2010 - Ready to Wear (UPDATED PHOTOS)

This opening number in Givency's Spring Runway, in Paris, sparked a lot of interest last year with its geometrically striped black and white jersey jacket over a graphic, lozenge-fronted top and draped pants.

Without a question this look is stunning, one of the many reasons why Riccardo Tisci has moved up as one of the elite group of designers who matter most in Paris.

LINE

Line is an Element of Art.

def. continuous mark made on some surface by a moving point.

The most obvious: A line that starts at point "A" and ends at point "B"

These two pictures are clear representations of line because they have a starting point and an ending point. (Think math or graphs)

Getting Creative: When using line to compose a photo or other forms of art. Line is used to focus the viewers attention on the main focus and usually directs where the viewer should look. This can be seen in the photo directly below (taken by me).

In this photo, I used the repetitive lines of the fence to direct the attention of the viewer to my friend, the focal point. The lines emphasize my friend but also evoke a dark mood. The tight lines draw closeness and are reminicent of a jail cell.

MORE INSPIRATIONS:

Something like an Avatar

 Just like the title says...this is something LIKE an avatar. I haven't watched the movie...and don't really plan to either (google: pocahontas vs. avatar) but for my tech class I tried to do my best interpretation of myself as an avatar - or something like it.

 

This is the picture I started with. I seem to be in the middle of posing ??!!

My eyes look extremely dead.

This is where I started to have a lot of fun with my project and actually knew what I was doing. Some major changes are my eyebrow (pretty sick, alie ?) and the snake skin in my mouth (sick again...with more blending RIGHT ??!!)

My final project completed.

I'm happy that I completed my avatar but I made a lot of EPIC FAILS that I would change in the future. On one of my layers I have a bald spot and a missing cheek (awesome image right, sexiest you've never seen). I also ACCIDENTLY deleted more than 5 layers that had changes on my skin, mouth, and hair, snake skin etc. so I pretty much sqrewed my ass.

WELL I WAS IN THE MIDDLE OF TALKING ABOUT MY LOVELY AVATAR SO COMMENT AND GO TO THE WASHROOM. THANK YOU.

...back. After seeing other avatars I got some ideas on how to improve my avatar for the future. As far as hair, instead of giving myself a virtual weave/wig, I could have kept it simple like Melanie. She added single braids and tinted her hair with blue highlights - SOO MUCH EASIER. If I had more time I could have taken my picture a lot further with CLAWS and TEETH ! Also, I could have taken my picture naked *pause* KIDDING maybe in a tank top so I could clone myself to look "naked" :D

Note: Mr. Sanger says no real avatar has clothes on.

This Year Imma Geek UP and Book UP to get my Grades UP...at least thats the plan.


 - Lets start the year off good with a "ipromisetobeagoodstudent" goal...keeping in mind that promises are meant to be broken *wicked smile*
